    Description

Mahogany newel post as shown. Pretty certain it's Mahogany, i sometimes confuse older American walnut pieces with older mahogany, but I can get an absolute confirmation if needed. Please contact me about shipping as I am pretty sure this can ship cheaper than the calculator shown. Piece is for sale locally on RI crayg list and there are additional different photos there so be sure to take a look at those.
This was removed from an 1800's house on the East Side of Providence. I have the Trenton Potteries wall mount toilet and sink from the house for sale also.
Piece appears to be in excellent used condition. The white paint was chipped and flaking in a spot and i peeled off those large sections where it is green with little effort. Although it's impossible to tell what's under the paint there is no obvious damage or cracks. The square base has a small chip in one corner and a chip at the very bottom. On one of the round details there is a small line in the paint as though it may have a crack underneath. There is no missing wood and it may just be the way the paint was applied. There are some nicks and dings but nothing larger than what I pictured and small enough that I missed them.
It weighs 25 pounds and is about 42 inches tall so a pretty big package to ship. I included the shipping calculator but contact me because the calculator is often wrong.
Piece is located about 20 minutes from Providence, a little over an hour from Boston, 1&1/2 from Hartford. I would be willing to meet an hour or so from here.
Take a good look at the
photos as piece is being sold as is.
